Ingredients
Scale
For the Meatballs
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Honey Buffalo Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup buffalo hot sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly using your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the Meatballs: Form the mixture into uniform, bite-sized meatballs to ensure even cooking and an appealing presentation.
- Cook the Meatballs: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil or butter. Brown the meatballs on all sides until golden, then reduce heat slightly and cook through. Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.
- Make the Honey Buffalo Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in buffalo hot sauce and honey. Stir continuously to create a smooth, glossy sauce bursting with flavor.
- Coat the Meatballs: Return the meatballs to the skillet and gently toss to coat each piece thoroughly with the honey buffalo sauce. Let simmer for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.
Notes
- Use room temperature meat for better mixing and tender meatballs.
- Do not overwork the meat mixture to avoid dense, tough meatballs.
- Make meatballs uniform in size to ensure even cooking.
- Let the meatballs rest in the sauce for a few minutes before serving to deepen flavor.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water or broth to adjust consistency.
