Tea Base
- 3 to 4 tablespoons Thai black tea mix
- 4 cups water
Sweeteners and Cream
- 3 to 4 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
- 2 to 3 tablespoons evaporated milk or whole milk
- Optional: 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar (to adjust sweetness)
Other
- Ice cubes as needed
Instructions
- Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups of fresh water to a boil, then add 3 to 4 tablespoons of Thai black tea mix. Let it steep vigorously for about 5 minutes until the water turns a deep orange color. Strain out the tea leaves to get a smooth brewed tea.
- Sweeten the Tea: While the tea is still hot, stir in 3 to 4 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk. Add sugar if you prefer a sweeter tea. Mix until fully dissolved to achieve the signature creamy sweetness.
- Cool and Chill: Allow the sweetened tea to cool down to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, add ice cubes right away to chill it quickly.
- Add the Creamy Layer: Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the cooled tea over it. Gently top with 2 to 3 tablespoons of evaporated milk or whole milk. Stir lightly for an even creaminess or leave layers for a beautiful visual effect.
- Serve and Enjoy: Give your Thai iced tea a final gentle stir, add a straw, and enjoy the perfectly balanced and refreshing creamy beverage.
