Cranberry Brie Bites

Cranberry Brie Bites

Cranberry Brie Bites are elegant and easy-to-make appetizers featuring creamy brie cheese and tangy cranberry sauce wrapped in flaky puff pastry. Perfect for holidays, parties, or any special occasion, these bite-sized treats combine a delightful sweet and savory flavor that guests will love.

  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 24 bites 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed according to package instructions)
  • 4 oz Brie cheese, cut into small chunks or thin slices
  • 2 tbsp cranberry sauce
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional Ingredients

  • Fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped (1 tsp)
  • Chopped pecans or walnuts (1 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Puff Pastry: Thaw the puff pastry sheet according to the package directions. Once soft, roll it out slightly on a floured surface and cut into small squares that fit snugly into a mini muffin tin, creating cups to hold the filling.
  2. Add the Brie: Cut the brie cheese into small pieces or thin slices that fit inside each pastry cup. The brie will melt during baking and form the creamy center.
  3. Spoon in Cranberry Sauce: Place a small dollop of cranberry sauce on top of each piece of brie. This adds a bright, tart flavor contrast and a pop of color.
  4. Add Optional Herbs and Nuts: If using, sprinkle chopped fresh rosemary or thyme and/or chopped nuts over the cranberry sauce to add extra aroma, flavor, and texture.
  5. Brush with Egg Wash and Bake: Beat the egg and brush it on the exposed edges of the puff pastry squares to help them brown beautifully. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Notes

  • Use chilled puff pastry to keep it flaky and prevent sogginess.
  • Don’t overfill the pastry cups to avoid spilling during baking.
  • Choose high-quality brie for better melting and creaminess.
  • Serve warm to enjoy the creamy melted cheese and balanced flavors.
  • Mini muffin tins create perfectly sized, uniform bites.
