Instructions
- Prepare the filling: Wash and finely chop fresh spinach. In a pan, sauté minced garlic and finely chopped onions in olive oil until fragrant. Add spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool. Once cooled, mix in room temperature cream cheese, crumbled feta, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Prepare the pastry sheets: Lay out phyllo or puff pastry sheets on a clean surface. If using phyllo, brush each sheet lightly with melted butter or olive oil to ensure flakiness after baking.
- Assemble the pastries: Spoon a generous amount of the spinach and cheese filling onto one end of each pastry sheet. Roll or fold the pastry around the filling to form neat parcels or triangles. Seal the edges gently using water or egg wash to prevent fillings from leaking.
- Bake to golden perfection: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the stuffed pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and crisp.
- Cool and serve: Allow the pastries to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving to let the filling set and avoid burning.
